# Chapter 170: No One Knows How to Knock!
Hello everyone, it's me again! How are you all doing? Today I will continue to walk with you and review Chapter 170 of "Forgotten Wife: Let the Traitors Kneel Down" — a chapter filled with simmering hostility, tender stolen moments, painful secrets, and enough awkward entrances to make anyone want to install a doorbell.
We begin in the middle of a very dangerous standoff. Maya watches in horror as Cassian and Dantriel look ready to tear Fay apart with their bare hands. The tension in the tent is razor-sharp, and Maya knows she has to act fast. She steps between them, her voice calm but firm, insisting that they did not come to fight — they came to ask for help.
Cassian is not convinced. He shoots Fay a murderous glare, and Maya understands exactly why. Fay’s arrogance is practically radioactive. She elbows him hard in the ribs, making him groan, and hisses at him to apologize. But Fay, being a fairy of immense pride, refuses. Why should he apologize? He is who he is, and he will not bow to anyone — not even when he and Maya are the ones standing there with their hands out.
Maya sighs heavily, feeling the weight of Fay’s stubbornness pressing down on her. She apologizes on his behalf, trying to smooth things over before Cassian decides to turn the arrogant fairy into a pincushion. Dantriel responds coolly, and Maya bows her head, humbling herself in a way that does not come easily. She begs for their help, admitting that April is the only one who can give it.
Cassian, however, is not the one to make that call. The decision rests with April, he says. Fay opens his mouth again, making things worse with a demand, and Maya has to physically restrain herself from punching him. Just when the situation seems ready to explode, Cassian suggests they wait until morning — April isn’t feeling well, and pushing her now would be pointless.
Maya looks at Cassian’s outstretched hand and takes it. Fay mutters that he’ll sleep elsewhere, and the two of them leave Dantriel's tent together, stepping into the quiet night.
Inside Cassian’s tent, Maya feels the need to apologize again. But Cassian gently cups her face with his hands and tells her she has nothing to be sorry for. None of this is her fault. He tells her to rest, and they lie down together on a bed that is far too small for a man of his stature.
Maya teases him about it. Shouldn’t a prince have a bigger bed? Cassian laughs softly, explaining that his brother has the big bed — he is only a prince without rights, a duke now. He confesses that he likes the small bed anyway. It forces them to be closer. He presses his firm body against her back, his warmth wrapping around her, his soft breathing stirring her heart. Maya wishes the moment could last forever. But it can’t. Guilt creeps in like cold water.
She begins to remember the fairy queen’s words, how they had wrapped around her like chains. The queen had summoned her every day, forcing her to have tea and speak about her life. Maya had tried to hide things, to omit the parts about April. But the queen was perceptive — dangerously so. The magical bond between them forced every truth out of Maya’s lips, no matter how much she resisted. When the queen learned about April and what she could do, her interest was instant and consuming.
And then the attacks came. The queen, seeing she could not win, sent Fay to find April. Maya did everything she could to be allowed to accompany him. The queen agreed only after Maya made arrangements with Fay, but she left an order hanging over her head: return. Maya felt those words like iron shackles dragging her back, even now, even here, in the arms of the man she loved.
She turns to face Cassian, studying his face in the dim light. She confesses that even if she wished with all her heart, she doesn’t think they could be like this again. Cassian strokes her hair as if she is something precious, something fragile. He tells her he has no intention of letting her go a second time. Maya doesn’t want to argue, doesn’t want to ruin the fragile peace between them. But the truth spills out of her anyway — she must return to the fairy lands. The queen’s orders are shackles, and Maya hates it.
Cassian, ever determined, refuses to give up. The fairy queen likes exchanges, he reasons. He will find something she wants, something that will buy Maya’s freedom. Maya lets herself hope, just a little. She snuggles into his chest and allows herself, for once, to sleep peacefully in his arms.
Morning comes, and Maya wakes to the first beautiful sight of the day: Cassian’s sleeping face. She feels a happiness she hasn’t felt in a long time. Cassian wakes, wraps his arms around her, breathes in the scent of her neck, and whispers good morning. For a fleeting second, everything is perfect.
Then Fay bursts into the tent without knocking, ruining the moment completely.
“Do you plan to stay the day in that bed?” she sneers.
Cassian and Maya both shoot up, their voices overlapping in outrage: “Don’t you know how to knock?”
Fay shrugs, unimpressed. “Don’t you know how to get up early?”
Cassian mutters something about fairies having no manners. Fay tells them not to waste time, to stop playing around with her human lover. The tension is already rising again when the tent flap flies open once more — and in storms Ethan, absolutely furious. He doesn’t knock either. Of course he doesn’t.
Cassian growls in disbelief. Seriously! Does nobody know how to knock?!
Ethan shouts, “Sophia isn’t going anywhere!” Then he corrects himself, his voice even louder: “April! She isn’t going anywhere!”
And if that wasn’t enough, Alessandro and April stroll in with Dantriel — also without knocking, as if they are all allergic to basic courtesy. Cassian stands there, surrounded by intruders, his private sanctuary completely overrun. He feels invaded. It seems absolutely no one in this world knows how to knock before entering.

**Reader's Impressions & Star Rating:**
This chapter was a beautiful storm of emotions. The quiet intimacy between Maya and Cassian felt incredibly tender and heartbreaking, especially knowing the fairy queen’s magical leash still drags Maya away. Fay is infuriating — but in a weird way, he adds sharp comic relief. And the ending scene with everyone barging into Cassian’s tent was both hilarious and tense, especially with Ethan shouting about April. The chapter gave us a perfect mix of romance, frustration, mystery, and humor.

**Next Chapter Prediction:**
Now that Ethan is furious about April staying, and Alessandro and April have arrived with Dantriel, the next chapter will likely explode into a heated confrontation. Ethan may reveal more about his connection to April, and the fairy queen’s dark orders will probably come into play. Maya might be forced to make an impossible choice between her loyalty and her love — possibly in front of everyone.
