# Chapter 172: Immune to Fire Magic

Hello everyone, it's me again! How are you all doing? Today I will continue to walk with you and review Chapter 172 of "Forgotten Wife: Let the Traitors Kneel Down"—a chapter where love, fire, and sheer desperation collide on a battlefield that seems to swallow every last hope. April is no longer just a mage watching from the shadows. This time, she steps into the storm, and the storm bows to her.

Let's dive in.

The wizards blasted open the exit with explosives, and the army surged out of the camp, ready to fight. But the moment they stepped onto the battlefield, the world turned hostile. The monsters had multiplied overnight. Their attacks were faster, hungrier, and more relentless, as if something dark and ancient had commanded them to stop the advance at all costs.

April stood at a distance, her heart slamming against her ribs, searching the chaos for one shining figure: Alessandro. She spotted his silver armor cutting through the sea of shadows, and relief flickered through her chest. The monsters couldn't touch him—her blessing had made sure of that. But the enemy army knew it too, so instead of monsters, human soldiers swarmed him, blades flashing from every direction.

Alessandro fought without mercy. His wind howled around him like a living shield, carving a path through the relentless tide. The camp edges disappeared behind them, and every step forward felt like a desperate gamble.

But April's chest tightened. That terrible feeling—the one that whispered of loss and blood—grew louder.

She ran to the nearest watchtower, climbed the stairs as fast as her trembling legs could carry her, and burst onto the top platform. The soldiers there jumped at the sight of her.

"What are you doing here, mage?"

"I want to see what's happening. Please let me stay, I beg you."

"You can't be here."

"Please let me stay."

She begged again and again, her voice cracking with urgency, until the soldiers finally gave in.

April stayed there all day. From the tower, she watched the distant battle unfold like a grotesque painting. Alessandro's silver armor glittered bright even in that endless darkness, a single star fighting to stay alive.

Then it happened.

A sharp pain pierced her chest, and the world twisted. Suddenly, April wasn't standing in the watchtower anymore. She was on the battlefield, surrounded by screams and smoke. It felt so real that her skin prickled with phantom sweat.

Sophia appeared before her, calm and fierce.

"My girl, you must break the last seal and end this war. You can no longer delay it. Those you love are in grave danger."

And then April saw them. Alessandro and her father, locked in combat. Her father's blade swung toward Alessandro's neck. In the distance, a new army of monsters rose over the horizon, joining the countless horrors already on the field. Panic swept through the soldiers below. They wouldn't make it back to camp tonight. They wouldn't be allowed to escape.

Just as quickly, April snapped back to reality. The soldiers around her stared, worried.

"Mage, are you okay?"

Her eyes were wide. Her legs turned to jelly. Pure terror gripped her throat, but she refused to collapse. She slapped her own cheeks, forcing herself to think, to breathe, to move.

Ignoring the soldiers' confused questions, she raced down the watchtower and found Sirius.

"I need to get out. Open the barrier."

"Have you lost your mind? I can't do that!"

"I don't have time to explain. You have to let me out. Alessandro is in danger."

Sirius pulled her aside, lowering his voice. "I don't know what's going on, but I cannot let you leave the camp and enter that battlefield."

"I have to go."

"Alessandro will kill me if I let you go."

"If you don't let me go, he will die! I can't explain it—just trust me!"

April didn't wait for his answer. She turned and ran.

"Reinforce the barrier when I leave!" she shouted over her shoulder.

"Wait—April!"

But she was already gone. Sirius chased after her, but she was faster than he expected. When she reached the glowing barrier, she didn't destroy it. Instead, she used her nullification power to bore a hole just large enough for her body to slip through.

Monsters lunged at the gap immediately. None of them made it. Silver flames exploded from April's hands, reducing every approaching beast to ashes. She stepped out of the camp, then used her flames to create a blazing wall between the monsters and the soldiers behind her.

Sirius reached the barrier and reinforced it with all his might, sealing the hole April had opened. When he looked up, he saw her silver-flame-wrapped body racing across the battlefield like a gazelle through a storm of death.

April ran as fast as her burning lungs would allow. Her stomach cramped. Her legs screamed. But she didn't slow down. She hadn't planned anything. Her mind was chaos. The only thought that kept her moving was the image of Alessandro falling.

When she got close enough, she saw her father about to drive his sword straight through Alessandro's heart.

She summoned every ounce of strength and hurled a fireball directly at Vritra's face.

"Hey! Leave my husband alone!"

The flames exploded against him, and Vritra paused, wiping his face like someone brushing away an annoying snowball. He hadn't been hurt. Not even singed. But he was angry.

Slowly, he turned his gaze toward April.

And in that terrible moment, April's red hair—freed when she nullified the magic ring that had been hiding its color—streamed behind her in the wind. Her true identity was laid bare.

Vritra's lips curled.

"Well, well. Look who we have here. My useless daughter."

Alessandro's blood ran cold. He had just been on the verge of death, but that fear was nothing compared to the terror of seeing April face her monstrous father alone.

April hurled another ball of silver fire at Vritra, but it only enraged him. It didn't burn him. It couldn't.

"So you learned to use magic," Vritra sneered. "But your flames are cold, little girl. Let me show you what a real fire looks like."

His crimson flames erupted around April, swallowing her completely.

"No!" Alessandro screamed. He attacked Vritra, but the King of Monsters swung around with icy fury.

"Don't bother. I'll kill you too."

The deadly flames kept pouring over April. Alessandro felt his own life draining away as he watched, helpless.

But then, through the crimson inferno, he saw her. April was still standing. Untouched. Unburned.

When April realized she wasn't hurt, her eyes snapped open in shock. She was surrounded by her father's flames, yet they didn't consume her. Just as he was immune to her silver fire, she was immune to his crimson fury.

Vritra extinguished the flames, his face a mask of disbelief. "How... my flames have done nothing to you?"

Alessandro seized the moment and attacked, forcing Vritra's attention away.

"Your fight is with me. Don't get distracted."

Vritra raised his sword, flames roaring around the blade. "If you're that eager to die, I'll grant your wish. I'll kill you first."

Alessandro wrapped his own sword in wind and braced for impact.

But April refused to let that blow land. She ignored the pain screaming through her body and poured everything she had left into her nullification magic. The flames around Vritra's sword died before it could meet Alessandro's blade.

Alessandro struck fast, his wind blasting Vritra backward. But even that powerful attack only pushed the monster a few steps.

Vritra stared at his extinguished sword, then at April. His voice was low, dangerous, and full of murderous curiosity.

"What kind of magic are you using?! How did you snuff out my flames?"

April swayed on her feet. She was weak. Too weak. Her vision blurred, and she almost collapsed.

But before she could fall, Vritra grabbed her wrist with crushing force, yanking her close. His eyes burned into hers.

"Answer me. What the hell have you done to me?"

The chapter ends with April caught in her father's grip, Alessandro wounded and furious, and the battlefield still swarming with death. The question hangs in the air like a guillotine blade: what will April reveal? And how far will she go to save the man she loves?

Reader's Impressions & Star Rating

What an incredible chapter! April's transformation from a terrified observer to a battlefield goddess is everything I wanted. The moment she runs through that sea of monsters wrapped in silver flames, I felt my heart pound. And when she stood untouched inside her father's crimson fire, I wanted to cheer out loud. The tension between Vritra, Alessandro, and April is razor-sharp, and that cliffhanger left me completely breathless. This chapter is full of emotion, action, and love so fierce it refuses to burn.

Next Chapter Prediction

Vritra now has April in his grasp, and he's desperate to understand her nullification power. But I think he's about to learn that his "useless daughter" is far more dangerous than he ever imagined. Alessandro will not stay down for long, and April might be forced to make a reckless move—perhaps even breaking the last seal Sophia warned her about right there on the battlefield. The next chapter is going to be explosive, and I'll be counting every second until we find out.
