This chapter is a beautiful, intense, and deeply emotional turning point — full of joyful expectations, hidden fears, passionate love, and quiet understanding. So settle in, and let’s dive right into the story!
---
Cassian had spent the last few hours pulling every string he could. He had arranged an alliance with the fairies, and in exchange for their help, he planned to demand Maya’s freedom. It was a brilliant plan, a perfect deal, and he was certain the Fairy Queen had no reason to refuse. His heart pounded with excitement. Today, for the first time in far too long, he felt hope.
Without wasting a single moment, he rushed to Maya’s room and knocked on her door insistently. When she finally opened the door, still sleepy and confused, Cassian could barely contain himself.
“What’s wrong, Cassian?” she asked, her voice still soft and calm.
He didn’t answer with words. In a single motion, he kissed her, lifted her off the ground, and spun her around in the air. Maya felt the world spiral around her, smiling at first, then growing dizzy as he continued twirling her.
“Cassian, put me down before I end up throwing up the dinner,” she laughed breathlessly.
He set her down gently, catching her as she swayed. She almost fell, but her body was safe in his arms.
“I’m sorry,” he said, a little embarrassed. “I think I got too excited.”
“What’s wrong? Why are you so excited?” she asked, still catching her breath.
“You will be free, Maya. You will regain your freedom.”
Maya blinked, shocked. “What?”
“April and Lessan have accepted the alliance with the fairies. In exchange for their help, they will demand your freedom. It’s a good deal — I don’t think the Fairy Queen will refuse.”
He kissed her again, his voice full of certainty and joy. “We will be together, Maya. They will never separate us again.”
Hours ago, those words would have made her heart soar. She would have cried with happiness, thrown her arms around his neck, and believed in a future where she was finally free. But now… now everything was different.
After what Fay had revealed to her, Maya could no longer share Cassian’s naive excitement. While she had lived in the land of the fairies, she had learned many hidden truths. One of the most painful was this: just like the elves, the fairies were fiercely jealous of their descendants. The chance of the queen ever letting her go was almost zero.
Her heart ached, but she forced her expression to stay calm. She didn’t want to destroy Cassian’s hope. Not yet.
Cassian, noticing her dull expression, asked gently, “What’s wrong? Are you not happy?”
“It’s not that,” she quickly replied.
“Well, you don’t seem very happy with the news.”
“I am,” she said, forcing a soft smile. “It’s just that I can’t believe it. I’m surprised. That’s all.”
Cassian looked into her eyes, then kissed her again. He tenderly caressed her cheeks and whispered, “I understand. It’s a big surprise — something difficult to believe. I feel the same way.”
Maya looked up at him, meeting his gaze. Cassian smiled happily, his eyes full of love and trust. And then she reached out, took his face gently in her hands, and spoke from the deepest part of her soul:
“Cassian… I love you…”
Their lips met passionately. Cassian felt the warmth of her mouth chase away all the coldness inside him. His hands held her face, memorizing her features one last time — as if she were a treasure he never wanted to lose. And then, breaking the kiss for just a few precious seconds, he murmured her name.
“Maya… I will always love you.”
She hugged him tightly, clinging to him as if she could hold onto this perfect moment forever. “Stay with me.”
“Always,” he whispered. “From now on, we will always be together.”

Meanwhile, in another part of the palace, the atmosphere was not quite so peaceful.
Alessandro sat with a heavy expression, his brows furrowed, his silence pressing down like a storm cloud. April sat beside him, gently leaning her head on his shoulder.
“How long do you plan to remain upset?” she asked softly.
“Why did you accept the alliance with the fairies?” he asked without looking at her.
“You already know why I did it.”
“Yes, but…”
April didn’t let him finish. She stood up, sat gracefully on his lap, and pressed her lips to his. She gave him a kiss full of meaning, then pulled back just enough to whisper:
“I don’t want you to be upset.”
She continued to kiss him — soft, patient, passionate — until the deep frown on Alessandro’s face slowly melted away. His resistance broke. He kissed her back with enthusiasm, his hands beginning to wander. He caressed her back, traced the hem of her white nightgown, then slowly ran his fingers down her legs, squeezing her thighs gently. A soft moan slipped from April’s lips.
“Ouch…” she breathed, her voice trembling.
Her warm breath and sweet sound ignited something wild inside him. For a moment, he lost control. His hands moved slowly, purposefully, undressing her little by little until she was completely bare beneath his passionate gaze. He devoured her mouth in another hungry kiss, then laid her down on the couch, his eyes exploring every inch of her body. April felt her entire being burn under his heavy stare. Her breathing grew ragged, her body aching for him.
She looked so small, so delicate — as if one rough touch could break her. And then, everything stopped. Alessandro suddenly remembered where they were, what had happened. April had been unconscious for fifteen entire days. She had only just awakened.
*But what the hell am I doing?*
He forced himself to look away from his wife’s naked body. A sharp pang of guilt stabbed through his chest. He rose from the couch, his body aching with need, and began to walk away.
April sat up, confused and heartbroken. Why had he stopped? Why was he leaving her like this? An ugly, painful thought crossed her mind:
*Maybe I don’t attract him anymore.*
“Lessan,” she called out, her voice fragile.
Alessandro turned around. The sadness in her voice injured him more than any blade ever could. She was still completely naked, and he forced his gaze away — but that only made everything worse.
“Lessan, why don’t you look at me? Where are you going? Why did you stop halfway? Have you realized that I don’t provoke you anymore?”
Alessandro felt his heart twist. He hadn’t realized it — he had only wanted to protect her, but in trying to be righteous, he had wounded her deeply.
“Of course not,” he said, moving back toward her.
He knelt close, took her face in his hands, and kissed her softly.
“It’s nothing like that. I love you, and I’m dying to make love to you right now. But you’ve been unconscious for fifteen days. I was an idiot for letting myself be carried away by my instincts. Even though I’m dying to make you mine, I must let you recover.”
But April didn’t care about logic. She only cared about him. She clung to him and whispered with pure honesty:
“I’m fine. And just like you, I’m dying to be in your arms, to feel your caresses, and to have you make love to me. So don’t leave without finishing what you’ve started.”
That was all the encouragement Alessandro needed. Desire and passion overwhelmed him. He lifted her into his arms, carried her to the bed, and kissed her as if she were the air he needed to breathe. He placed her down gently, settled above her, and let his hands roam across her skin — every curve, every millimeter, every hidden place — as if he wanted to worship her forever.
April’s moans rose softly into the night. It had been so long since he had touched her like this, so long since she had felt so alive. She pulled at his clothes, desperate to feel him completely, and soon they were skin to skin, warmth melting into warmth.
Alessandro released her lips and began to kiss her entire body with tender care. That night, he made love to her tenderly and delicately, moving slowly inside her, savoring every heartbeat. At one point, April’s desire overwhelmed her patience, and she begged him to go faster. And when he was about to pull away, she wrapped her legs tightly around his hips, refusing to let him go. She received his warmth deep inside her, her body trembling with overwhelming pleasure.
She felt weak, and yet somehow renewed — as if she had been reborn, as if she had finally recovered something she had feared was lost forever.
They lay there, breathless, staring into each other’s eyes. In that single moment, no words were needed. Their gazes spoke of love, forgiveness, devotion, and the unbreakable bond between them.
With a look, they told each other everything.

**Reader’s Impressions & Star Rating:**
This chapter was an emotional rollercoaster! Cassian’s joy was so contagious, but Maya’s hidden sadness broke my heart — she’s carrying a burden she can’t share, and I just want to hug her. And Alessandro and April? Their love scene was beautifully passionate yet tender, but it was the moment he stopped to protect her that really touched me. This chapter showed that true love isn’t just about desire — it’s about care, sacrifice, and understanding even without words. I loved every moment of it.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rating: 4.9 / 5 Stars

**Next Chapter Prediction:**
The Fairy Queen will almost certainly reject Maya’s freedom, and Maya will find herself trapped between her love for Cassian and the truth she knows. Cassian, however, will refuse to give up and may make a dangerous decision that puts him at odds with the fairies — and perhaps even with the alliance. Meanwhile, with April and Alessandro stronger than ever, they may finally stand together against the coming storm. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
