The battle had reached its fever pitch. The air screamed with dark magic, and the ground trembled with the charge of monstrous creatures crawling out of the shadows. Cassian, bleeding and exhausted, cradled Maya in his arms. With the last shred of strength left in his body, he crossed the barrier—not out of cowardice, but out of brutal necessity. He knew deep in his heart that at this moment, he and Maya would only be a burden to April. So he left her there, alone against her demons.

And April stood tall.

Her sister Cira sneered, her voice dripping with venom: **"You seem very confident to be a useless damn."**

April didn't flinch. She didn't even blink. She simply answered by raising her hands and letting her silver flames burst to life. The monsters lunged at her, snarling and shrieking—but none of them could even touch her. One after another, they screamed and turned into ashes beneath her blazing power.

**"I am no longer useless, Cira,"** she said, her voice calm but strong. **"I am not the same weak and powerless girl whom you constantly tortured."**

Cira's laugh was cold and cruel. She hurled a ball of darkness, but April slipped aside and answered with her own fire. She still couldn't understand: *Why does my own sister hate me so much?*

**"For me you will always be a useless bitch,"** Cira spat, hatred burning in her eyes. **"Good for nothing and whom I want to destroy."**

April's chest ached, but her resolve didn't crack. **"Why do you hate me so much, Cira? I never did anything to deserve your hatred."**

**"Do I need a reason to hate you?"** Cira laughed louder. **"I don't believe it."**

She ordered more monsters to attack, but they were consumed by April's silver flames before they could even get close. Cira watched with growing frustration, and then she finally spoke the ugly, naked truth:

**"The darkness has never controlled me. Everything I do, I do because I want it. I am fully aware of that."**

April's voice trembled. **"How can you say that?"**

**"Compared to you, I enjoy hurting and causing pain. That has always been my delight. Before, you asked me why I've been so mean to you—I think that would be a good reason. I hate you, and I hurt you, because it pleases me."**

Those words hit April like a blade to the heart. But she didn't have time to grieve. Cira ordered every monster on the battlefield to swarm her. April responded by wrapping her body in a cocoon of silver flames—a blazing armor that nothing could penetrate. She then unleashed her inferno across the field, turning wave after wave of monsters to ash.

Cira saw her chance. She launched herself at April, claws sharpened with dark energy—but the moment she touched those flames, she screamed. Pain unlike anything she had ever felt ripped through her body. Inside her, the demon possessing her writhed, howling in agony, begging her to run. But Cira's pride was choked, stubborn, unbreakable. She refused to retreat, even as those flames scorched her from the inside out.

She tried to hit April again, but April intercepted her blow with ease. Over and over, Cira attacked—but her strikes were weak, sloppy, full of exhaustion. April finally used her magic, striking back so fiercely that Cira crashed to the ground.

**"Damn bitch, I'll kill you!"** Cira screamed, still snarling.

April walked toward her sister with slow, measured steps. **"You threaten me with death,"** she said quietly, **"but it seems to me that you are the one who is about to die."**

Cira felt as if her insides were melting inside her. She hated it. She hated herself for even thinking about fleeing. But she had no choice. Her body was failing, the demon inside her was terrified, and staying meant death.

So she called the only shield she had left: that enormous monster locked in battle with the Fairy Queen. The creature abandoned its fight and charged toward April, buying Cira precious seconds. As April dodged the giant beast, Cira was swallowed by a thick veil of darkness. Her voice echoed through the night, a curse and a promise all at once:

**"I'm going to take away what you love most. I'll make you suffer. That trust you have—I will break it into pieces. I'll make you a miserable bitch again."**

April tried to strike her sister with her silver flames, but the monstrous guardian blocked her path. She had no choice but to fight it. Her flames, so devastating against lesser monsters, barely fazed this beast of Hades. It was enormous, terrifying, born from the very depths of hell.

But she wasn't alone.

Dantriel and Ethan rushed to her side, and the Fairy Queen joined them as well. Together, they struck the monster without mercy. Blades clashed, magic roared, and silver fire burned. Finally, the colossal demon collapsed, turning into a pool of dark ichor and fading into nothing.

Cassian burst through the remnants of battle, reaching April's side with worry written all over his face. **"Aby, are you okay?"**

She managed a tired smile. **"Yes, I'm fine. Even though, in the end, I let my sister escape."**

Enzo approached them, staring grimly at the darkness where Cira had vanished. **"So you let her escape."**

**"Our sister was quick to flee,"** April admitted.

**"She is very spiteful,"** Enzo said, darkly. **"After being possessed by the darkness, she is even worse. She will take revenge on us. From now on, neither of us will be able to rest easy."**

April knew it was true. She could feel it in her bones. Cira wouldn't let this go. She would come back, with poison and treachery, ready to shatter everything April loved.

**"I know,"** April said, her eyes hardened. **"But this time, I will be prepared. So next time, I will not let her escape."**

A few stray monsters still scattered the battlefield. April lifted her hand, and silver flames expanded outward like a blazing tide, turning them all to ashes. The battlefield finally fell silent.

But then—dizziness. Her knees almost gave way. Ethan caught her just in time, pulling her gently to his chest. **"Are you okay?"**

April gave a weak but reassuring smile. **"Yes, I just think I used too much power. If I rest a little longer, I'll be as good as new. So don't worry."**

In her heart, though, she knew: rest would be short-lived. The promise of revenge hung in the air like a blade waiting to fall.

**Reader's Impressions & Star Rating**

Oh, what a breathtaking chapter! The tension between April and Cira was absolutely electric. You can feel the years of pain and hatred burning beneath every line. April's transformation from a powerless victim to a fierce, unstoppable warrior is deeply satisfying, and Cira's darkness is chilling—not because it controls her, but because she *chose* it. That makes her far more terrifying. The action scenes are vivid, the emotional depth is real, and the cliffhanger of Cira's threat leaves you desperate for more.

⭐ **Rating: 4.9 / 5 Stars**

**Next Chapter Prediction**

Cira's promise of revenge will inevitably begin to unfold. She will target the people April loves most—perhaps Maya, Cassian, or even someone close to Enzo. Expect a betrayal that cuts deep, a test of April's trust, and a new battle that will force her to split her heart between love and duty. The demon inside Cira will only grow stronger, and April will have to face a shadow much more personal than any monster from Hades.
