"Stop acting!" Anna couldn't believe Isabella was denying it. This was her only
chance to clear her name, and she was furious. "Isabella, drop the innocent act! You were the one who said if something happened to Grandpa, Serena would be kicked out of the Vinton family!"
Isabella sounded even more shocked by the accusation, her tone the picture of innocence. "Anna, what is wrong with you? When did I ever tell you to do something like that? Grandpa has been so good to us, why would I ever want you to hurt him? I've been trying to convince you to get along with Serena this whole time..."
She suddenly paused, her voice turning frantic. "Wait, did you say something happened to Grandpa? What happened to him? Anna, you... you didn't do something to him, did you?"
Her tone and her words sounded entirely fake.
Especially that final touch of urgent concern. It was an absolute masterclass in playing the innocent, devoted granddaughter.
Anna was livid, unleashing a torrent of curses at the phone.

By the end of her sentence, Isabella was practically sobbing, entirely washing her hands of the crime.
Anna's furious rant came to a sudden halt.
