Chapter 1185:
“I’m sorry, Brendon…” Yolanda’s voice cracked as she spoke, her swollen eyes rimmed in red as tears streamed freely down her cheeks.
“I don’t need apologies,” Brendon snapped, his tone edged with frustration. “I want the truth.”
Her sobs grew harsher, each word torn out between ragged breaths. “They’re being unfair! I only drew some influence; I never copied her design outright.”
“With so much proof staring you in the face, you’re still clinging to denial?” Brendon’s stare bored into her, his expression carved from cold disappointment.
Before the Global Fashion Design Competition, he had envisioned her triumph, a dazzling victory. Now that dream lay in ashes, leaving only disappointment smoldering in its place.
Yolanda should have been standing in glory before the world, holding the trophy aloft as the Dawson Group’s pride. Instead, the company was left with humiliation and heavy losses.
Yolanda forced her gaze upward to meet his. “Do you despise me now?”
Brendon said nothing, his silence thick with turmoil.
Unbidden, Christina’s image surged into his mind—her brilliance, her vitality, the way her presence glowed with a rare allure he had somehow never noticed before.
Yolanda’s chest tightened as she studied him, her teeth clenched and fists curled, rage burning beneath her trembling frame.
Was Christina haunting his thoughts again?
Her eyes darkened, a poisonous edge glimmering there as she narrowed them to slits.
That woman would not be allowed to steal Brendon away. The Dawson fortune was her rightful claim, and Brendon himself was not to be taken.
When the car rolled to a halt at Bayview Estates, Brendon’s voice cut like ice. “You can get out now.”

“Brendon… where are you going?” Yolanda stammered, her fingers twisting nervously together.
“My own home,” he answered flatly, his features unreadable, his tone final.
It felt as though a blade had pierced her chest. The pain was raw, suffocating, unlike anything she had endured before.
In that moment, she understood that she truly had fallen for Brendon.
The terror of losing him spread through her, each breath weighed down with the sting of heartbreak.
She could not allow him to slip away. She had to bind his heart to hers and erase every thought of another woman.
Suddenly, she gagged violently.
Brendon’s brow furrowed, his icy composure cracking into concern.
“What’s wrong? Did you eat something spoiled?” His voice carried an unexpected note of worry.
Fresh tears blurred Yolanda’s vision as she whispered hoarsely, “If I’ve already shattered your trust, Brendon… maybe divorce is the only answer.”
