I had a lot on my mind.

The interview was everywhere. I sat on my bed with the articles open and watched the comments shift in real time.

The comments started shifting in my favor as more people expressed admiration. Viewers were captivated by his honest confession on live television. They found it hard to believe that Grayson Shaw had publicly faced numerous reporters to declare his love for me.

He told everyone that I was still his wife and urged them to show me respect, warning of consequences if they didn’t. He also demanded an end to the false articles spreading about me.

It wasn’t likely to stop but the fact that he’d at least tried showed me that he cared.

I blushed at the reminder. My heart kept screaming at me to accept him again. To finally forget about the past and move on.

Olivia smiled over my shoulder. “Finally. Things are looking up. I’m happy for you. After all the sorrow, comes the joy.”

I was seriously considering forgiving him. I knew I would eventually, it was truly a matter of when.

Everything he had done since finding out the truth had showed to me that he was willing to treat me right this time. He had kept the promise at the game. He had told the world I did not cheat. He had put himself between me and Lily. He even got her out his life for good.

I missed his touch, the feel of his arms around me. I wanted to shove the worst weeks behind me and run into his arms and let that be the end of all the pain.

I refreshed the page, hoping to see different angles of the interview. What I saw next almost made me faint.

My heart skipped a beat and I felt like I could not breathe.

I grabbed Olivia’s hand. “Olivia.”

She realized right away that something was wrong from my expression.

“What is it?” She asked in an alert tone.

She looked over my shoulder and froze.

The article was one minute old.

Grayson Shaw and Nico Shaw involved in a vehicle accident. Both transported to the hospital.

Conditions unknown.

Conditions unknown? What did that mean? Were they okay?

There was a photo of a wrecked car and yellow tape and I felt like my whole world was collapsing from one article alone.

I made a sound I did not recognize. The phone shook in my hands.

No.

“Grayson!” I cried out, tears forming in my eyes. My hands were shaking from the shock of it. I was terrified. I’d never been this terrified in my life.

He was hurt. Grayson was hurt.

“Blair-”

I was already off the bed. Olivia caught the phone before I dropped it and followed me down the stairs, grabbing keys, telling our parents something I did not hear.

I could not get a full breath. Tears came so fast they blurred the hallway. I kept seeing the condition of the car and his name everywhere.

“He was just fine,” I gasped. “He was fine. He was fine-”

“We are going,” Olivia said. “I’m sure it’s not serious.”

“I saw the car!” I cried out.

I knew she was only trying to comfort me but I was freaking out.

I rushed out of the house crying so hard I had to hold the doorframe. I didn’t waste any time as I somehow made it to the driveway.

I reached for the passenger door of Olivia’s car.

That’s when another car pulled in.

I stopped.

We both did.

The passenger side opened and I felt like I was dreaming when Grayson got out.

There was blood at his hairline. A cut on his face. Some bruises on his body.

I made a broken noise and ran before I could stop myself.

I threw my arms around his neck so fast he staggered a step back.

I did not care. I was crying hysterically into his bloody shirt, hands shaking against the back of his head.

“Are you okay?” I cried. “Where are you hurt?”

I couldn’t get the words out in time. I felt like I wasn’t asking enough questions.

“I was so scared,” I sobbed. “What are you doing here? They said you were in the hospital-they said you and Nico-

“I’m here.” His voice was rough against my hair. “I’m here, Blair.”

The other door opened. Nico climbed out slower, a dark mark along his jaw.

“We were supposed to be in a hospital,” Nico said. “Doctors wanted to look at him. He ran out. Came here. Said he was scared you would worry too much and he didn’t want to stress you out because you’re pregnant. Wanted you to see himself that he was fine.”

I pulled back enough to look at Grayson’s face. He drove here instead of staying at the hospital because he didn’t want to worry me?

Why would he do that?

I could see more blood. Then a wince he tried to hide. He was clearly in pain.

“You left the hospital,” I said, stunned. “You chose to come here instead of letting doctors look at you.”

He winced again, more dramatically, and pulled me back into the hug. “I’m really hurt. Keep hugging me. You make it better.”

“Grayson.”

“Don’t let go. It helps.”

Nico chuckled. “He is doing that for attention. And love. Mostly love.”

Grayson shot him a glare over my shoulder, as if to say to shut up.

I blinked, still crying, and felt heat rush into my face when I realized what he was doing.

“You are unbelievable,” I whispered.

“I’m injured,” he said into my neck, not letting go.

Olivia stood by her car with her hand on her chest, furious and relieved in the same breath. “Both of you are going back to a hospital. I do not care how romantic this is. Nico, get in. I am driving.”

I was worried and I was not letting him out of my arms until someone with a medical license looked at him carefully.
