cheering and tooting their noisemakers were a distant hum to Nick’s ears. The only thing he
wanted to listen to was the sound Eli’s breath made when it hitched like that.
This time, Eli was the one to pull away, his mouth as red as fruit punch. “Awkward question, but
when are you off the clock?”
“I can get everything shut down and cleared out by one,” Nick said. His hands were kneading at
Eli’s waist like they couldn’t wait to get under his layers of clothing. “Can you stick around that
long?”
Eli cocked his head in mock disappointment. “Well, I took an Uber here, and I’m sure surge
pricing is going to be wild now, so really, I don’t have any choice except to go home with you.”
