Second Chances in New Port Stephen - Chapter 63

Eli threw his head back and hit the wall with a thunk. “Oh, fuck.” He braced one hand on the
wall, the other finding its way to Nick’s strong shoulder. Nick’s tongue drew a slow circle around
him, then lapped at his tip. All very gentle, though. Not nearly enough. “Harder. You can go
harder,” Eli whispered.
Nick hummed—the bastard—and planted his hands on Eli’s waist. Eli looked down, then bit his
lip on a groan. Nick was staring back at him. That was a lot of eye contact. Had he always been
so big on eye contact?
Had he always been this good? His mouth deserved some kind of award. Maybe a trophy. Eli
looked back up at the ceiling, his shoulders shaking with suppressed laughter. Maybe a parade.
One that wouldn’t end in a minor disaster.
Nick lifted off Eli’s cock with a parting swipe. “Something funny?” he asked. Not indignant, not
even a little. The corners of his mouth were upturned like he was looking forward to being let in
on the joke.
Fuck, Eli loved him.
Fuck. Eli loved him.
“Just thinking about how you’re way better at this than you have any right to be,” Eli babbled.
He babbled when he was nervous. Or when he was on the brink of orgasm alongside the

realization that he was in love—again? Still?— with this guy he definitely should not be in love
with. Words could cover up a lot of stuff that didn’t need to be seen. “Who allowed this? How
dare you. I’m filing a report.”
“Sounds official,” Nick said, then bowed his head to take Eli between his lips again.
Eli couldn’t help it. He wrapped a hand around the back of Nick’s neck and pushed deeper into
his mouth. Nick took the manhandling without complaint, his eyelashes fluttering. His moan
zinged straight into every nerve ending Eli still possessed.
Don’t say it, don’t say it, he told himself sternly. He bit the inside of his cheek so hard, he tasted
pennies. He came like that, silent and shaking, against Nick’s face.
After, he felt drained in more ways than one. Nick was still licking at him, though he barely felt
the tongue running along the insides of his shaking legs,
chasing slick. He eased up on his death grip of Nick’s neck and instead slid his fingers into that
soft hair.
“Wow,” he said. Casual. Keep things casual. “Thanks. For that.”
Nick sat back and stared up at him with an incredulous raise of his eyebrow. “You’re welcome?”
He got to his feet with a series of groans and pops in his back. “Holy shit, okay, you were right
about the pillows.”
“See? I’m always right.” Eli was very proud that he was able to say all that while his lungs were
out of commission. Also his legs. He thanked Christ for the wall; without it, he’d be on the floor.
Yep, he would probably stay here against the wall for, oh, the rest of time. He watched Nick’s
broad back as he turned around. Not a bad view for eternity.
Nick was pulling back the sheets on the bed. Eli watched him through slitted eyes, still too brain-
scrambled to realize what was happening. Then Nick gave him an odd look and said, “Left side
okay for you? I’m fine with either, really.”
“Oh. Uh.” Eli’s addled mind caught up to the present. He finally pushed off the wall. His knees,
miraculously, held him up. “I thought—I don’t know if I should stay.” Staying meant sleeping
next to Nick. In his house. With Zoe right down the hall. While Eli’s heart was trying to claw its
way out of his chest.
