Second Chances in New Port Stephen - Chapter 54

Eli stopped his exploration of Nick’s throat to rear back and look him in the eye. “Did you read a
wikiHow article on how to have sex with a trans guy?”
“What? No.” Nick’s panicked face said otherwise. “I might have done some googling, sure, but—
well, what was I supposed to do?”
Eli was trying very hard not to laugh, but it wasn’t easy when Nick was standing right in front of
him, shirtless and with a very obvious hard-on, looking more anxious than he had the time in
ninth grade when Eli had convinced him to play lookout while he raided their geometry
teacher’s desk for her fancy breath mints.
“I’m trying to be respectful,” Nick said. “Don’t laugh at me.”
“I’m not laughing at you.” Schooling his face into a serious mask was impossible, so he hoped his
smile was as fond as he felt in that moment. “I’m— it’s not a CIA interview. And if you really
want this to be fair…” He tipped his head and looked up at Nick. “I should get a chance to ask
you the same questions. Get your rules.”
Nick frowned. “But you know me. You know all about me already.”
Eli’s smile faltered. He did, was the thing. He knew that Nick always picked the top hat when
playing Monopoly. He knew he liked his bacon just on the wrong side of burnt. And he knew,
deep in his bones, that Nick was polite to a fault. Too polite to spell out things that were
obvious. Like this was clearly a one-time thing.
Since his transition, Eli had hooked up with a few guys who were just curious, looking for a novel
experience. He might have been angrier about being treated like that, but the truth was,
horniness won out most of the time. (Thank you, testosterone.) As long as the guys were chill,
he could get what he wanted.
This was Nick, though, not some random Grindr hookup. Eli wasn’t sure he could pretend to be
okay with one-and-done. But he’d have to be. For Nick’s sake.
Eli must have taken too long thinking all this through because Nick broke the long silence. “You
all right?”
“Yeah, I’m great.” Eli hugged him tight so Nick wouldn’t have a good view of his face. He was too
practiced at parsing all of Eli’s emotions from one look.

“Yeah?” One of Nick’s hands moved from Eli’s back to dig into his hair. He scratched at Eli’s scalp
in a way that made him tingle all the way down to his toes. “Also, I’m fine with anything. Really.
Whatever you want to do, I’ll try it. If you want to top, I don’t mind.”
